Can Opening An In Home Daycare, Make You A Fulltime Paycheck?

Are you thinking of opening an in home daycare and quitting your fulltime job? One of the biggest question one may ask is, “Can I make a fulltime paycheck opening an in home daycare?”

The answer is YES!!! It does ultimately come down to how much you charge per child and how many children you watch. Most states an in home daycare can only watch 6 children at a time.

If you are going to charge $200 a week per child and you have 6 children, that is $1200 a week paycheck. Where you can make a little extra is if you have an am/pm school-age child you can fit in another child during the day while that school-age child is in school.

With making $1200 a week that is making around $24/hr and working 50hrs a week. That is by far way more than most people make working a 40hr job. You can pick your hours and pay. So if you only want to be open 40hrs a week and still make that $1200 a week that is your call. Just remember you have to be available for those working their full time jobs, so prime hours to be open should be around the 6:00am-6:00pm. So, just keep that in mind when trying to get families enrolled.
